Pinay DH in Riyadh pleading for ticket to be repatriated Sept. 26

Here is good news for Raylai Refil Siason (a.k.a. Laila Villafuerte Siason), a domestic helper (DH) in Riyadh who was pleading for a ticket from her recruitment agency in Manila.

Attaché Saifoden “Ding” Manalao of the Assistance to Nationals (ATN) of the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh announced on Friday that Siason would be taking the repatriation flight of the Philippine Overseas Labor Office in Riyadh (POLO Riyadh) on Monday (Sept. 26).

She is currently staying at the Bahay Kalinga (BK).

Manalao relayed the information through Rafael E. Seguis, retired Foreign Service Officer (FSO) who is still helping distressed overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).

Earlier, Siason sent a text message requesting that her agency be contacted for a plane ticket.

After expressing her intention to run away from her employer due to maltreatment, she said she could not contact her agency anymore.

Her recruiter, Femex Recruitment Agency, has its office at the Gedisco Center, 1564 A. Mabini Street, Ermita, Manila.

Siason, a single mom from Coron, Palawan, has been staying at the Bahay Kalinga for the last four months. Her name has now been included on the list of distressed OFWs on travel status.

“Meron na akong exit visa pero walang plane ticket (I already have an exit visa but do not have a plane ticket),” she said.

Asked what kind of maltreatment she underwent, she said, “Mag-isa akong nagtatrabaho sa malaking bahay mula 17 hanggang 19 hours, kapaguran at kulang pagkain na ibinibigay ng employer. (I  do all the household chores by myself in a big house from 17 to 19 hours, fatigue and lack of food from employer.)

She thanked all those who helped her like POLO Riyadh; Seguis, who is now with the Center for Humanitarian Dialogue; and Attaché Manalao.
