For the love of pets, Robinsons Galleria holds ‘When Kindness Matters’
A gentle reminder to furparents and pet owners — October 4 is World Animal Day!
To mark this day of care and compassion for animals, Robinsons Malls Happy Pets Club will hold a day-long pet event, “When Kindness Matters,” on Oct. 2, 10 A.M. at the Digiworld area of Robinsons Galleria in EDSA Ortigas.
Vets from the Quezon City Veterinary Department will provide free vet checkup, to include anti-rabies vaccination, microchipping, deworming and spay and neuter or “kapon” for pets that will be brought by their furparents who are residents of Quezon City.
“If you are passionate about animal welfare, this event at Robinsons Galleria on Oct. 2 is one great way to be involved on World Animal Day. ‘When Kindness Matters’ aims to unite the community, especially here in Barangay Ugong Norte, so that each one of us can make a difference and be part of something special,” said Robinsons Galleria Senior Mall Operations Manager Jonathan F. Ho.
‘Kindness Board’
Furparents and pet owners are invited to post on the “Kindness Board” their thoughts about ways to show kindness to animals.
There will also be a talk on “Responsible Pet Ownership” by the city’s best veterinarians.
To avail of the free pet services, pet owners are urged to scan the QR codes that are posted in Robinsons Galleria and Robinsons Malls Happy Pets Club social media assets as well as QC Veterinary Department’s FB page.
Established in 2015 by mall goers who are also pet owners and lovers, the Robinsons Malls Happy Pets Club promotes animal welfare advocacies and activities espousing responsible pet ownership.
Last month, it initiated the “Journey to Responsible Pet Ownership” program, a collaboration with the Animal Care and Disease Control Division of the Quezon City Veterinary Department and supported by the Animal Kingdom Foundation, a non-profit animal welfare NGO committed to improving the living conditions of animals.
The Club has lined-up more pet-friendly activities which will be held regularly in Robinsons Galleria, Robinsons Novaliches and Robinsons Magnolia.
Robinsons is the first mall chain in the country to launch an organized Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program for pets, establishing in image as a pet-friendly mall.
“We should treat our pets with kindness because they can also experience pain, fear, and suffering just like us. They have emotions and as such, they deserve to be treated with the same level of compassion and respect that we would want for ourselves,” said Robinsons Land Director for Corporate Public Relation Roseann C. Villegas.
