UPDATE: Pinay DH missing in Malaysia contacts family in PH
Analyn B. Tagbi, a 35-year-old domestic helper (DH) in Malaysia, contacted her family on Monday afternoon after reading the news in Bravo News that she was missing.
Cris Abad, a neighbor who referred the case to this writer, said that Analyn’s husband, Mario Paña, Jr., informed her on Tuesday that Tagbi was with her agency, Agensu Super Employment SDN BHD, and was working on her papers to come home.m
Raña approached Abad, thinking she could help since she works in a recruitment agency. Abad, in turn, sent a text message to this writer for help.
Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Undersecretary and officer-in-charge (OIC) Hans Leo J. Cacdac, Jr. promised to help locate her as requested by this columnist.
“Okay po, sir. We’ll help,” said Cacdac in a message to former foreign service officer (FSO) Rafael E. Seguis who referred the case to the DMW after receiving information that Bolibagan was missing.
According to Paña, a fellow housemaid was making up issues against Bolibagan who was deployed in Malaysia in 2022 by the recruitment agency Bright Star Placement Corporation in Barangay, Palanan, Makati City.
Paña said Bolibagan was also beaten up. Before the end of January, the employer, Hasreek Putra Husain Yusuf, handed her over to the agency Agensu Palerjaan Super Employment SDN BHD at 41-Z First Floor, Jalan PJU/12 Dutaran Subway, Kota Denonsara 47816 Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
“Binigyan raw siya ng pamasahe para umuwi,” Paña said
(She was reportedly given money for plane fare to come home.)
However, the family could no longer reach her since Feb. 7, the last time she was contacted.
“Nagmamakaawa kami kay DMW Undersecretary and OIC Hans Leo J. Cacdac at OWWA (Overseas Workers Welfare Administration) Administrator Arnell Ignacio na tulungan kami na hanapin siya,” Paño said.
(We’re appealing to DMW and OIC Hans Leo J. Cacdac, Jr.and OWWA Administrator Arnell Ignacio to help us find her.)
