Batangas fetes seniors
Batangas celebrates its elderly with Seniors Faith Expo, a unique Christmas celebration on Dec. 8, 2022 at the Batangas Lakelands in the town of Balete, which has a breathtaking view of Taal lake.
The day will also be a celebration of the 441st founding anniversary of the province of Batangas and the feast of the Immaculate Conception.
Visitors can enjoy a day of feasting, dancing, singing and fireworks display in the festive Christmas Village. They will be able to taste different versions of pancit, lechon baka, tawilis, San Jose dinuguan and puto, etc. at the Food Festival.
Guests can also buy unique and meaningful Christmas gifts from the best products of 20 participating towns and cities of Batangas.
Proceeds from the sales will support the sustainable Kabuhayan Program for Seniors.
For the more able and adventurous, there will be archery, zip line and helicopter ride over Taal lake and volcano. Others can take a horse-driven carriage ride around the Batangas Lakelands.
An entrepreneurship workshop will be held at 1 p.m. followed by a Holy Mass to celebrate the feast of the Immaculate Conception.
There will be tours of Marian Orchard, Padre Pio Shrine and MonteMaria.
Other features include an Eco-Forum for 200 participants on how seniors can help save Taal and the environment and also improve the lives of lake fishermen, selection of the Batangas Ageless Beauty Queen from candidates of each participating town,
cocktails, dinner, program and ball. Music will be provided by Spirit of ’67 and Heart and Soul.
At 8:30 p.m. there will be a closing prayer, although visitors can stay an extra hour for singing and dancing.
